• Kids like toys that make loud noises
• Time is running out on printing holiday cards and photos
• Seems like everyone is pushing last minute gifts
• There is still no excuse to holding back in-demand products

The clock is ticking on the holiday shopping season and we, for one, have learned quite a bit during this wild stretch. For example:

• Gifts can be fun and wacky, so surprise someone with joystick bling…
• … Unless it’s that special someone. Get her the real shiny stuff
• Music comes in all kinds of flavors: rich and beautiful with a free MP3 player, commercial free with a discount, or Latino
• Winter is here so start booking your ski trips and your summer getaways
• Vote soon and often because you may be randomly selected to buy an affordable Zune, a cheap grill, or a desirable TMX Elmo

After a busy Thanksgiving week, we found ourselves in the middle of the so-called “Cyber Monday” craziness. Now that we’ve weathered that storm we can reflect on what we’ve learned so far.

• This year, fewer people shopped on Black Friday, but those who did spent more
• If you want to use Netflix but don’t want to spend so much money, try their new $5.99 plan
• There’s nothing wrong with being number 2, especially if you’re a Zune
• T-Mobile can’t be the only place to sell the Blackberry Pearl; Now Cingular has it too
• We really haven’t written enough about Brookstone… these coupons are a good start

It was our first Thanksgiving together and if you’re like us and you chose to shop online (rather than get trampled at 5AM in front of your favorite big box store) then you learned that:

• Just in time for the holidays, Google Checkout coupons are back
• The best TiVo is a free free TiVo
• Why buy the same old gifts when you can but something really unique?
• You will need a bigger bag to carry all those gifts back home
• The only thing that can bring down Amazon.com is a $100 Xbox

Another eventful week passes and once again we find ourselves wiser because we now know the following:

• Your vote counts if you want an Xbox 360 for $100.
• You don’t have to stand in line all night for a Nintendo Wii… heck you don’t even have to pay for it.
• The name is Bond, James Bond and this is my Gear, Spy Gear.
• If you’re going to be stuck in an airport while traveling this week, might as well buy a good book.
• Send Thanksgiving flowers to someone special (just don’t tell them you got 15% off).

Pundits may over-analyze this election week, but here is what we know:

• Elections are very serious, unless you’re enjoying election movies
• Politicians may talk about 1,000 points of light, but you can’t see them without a telescope (for 10% off)
• Voting may be free, but it can’t beat 97 cent shipping on top holiday toys
• We can make government a bit lighter if we bought each Member of Congress a limited edition aluminum chair
• It’s not a coincidence that we get a new iPod shuffle and a political shuffle in the same week.

You may have learned something (or nothing) from all those campaign ads on TV, but we learned quite a bit, like:

• Nintendo Wii fever is here so pre-order now.
• If iTunes offered free music and you didn’t know about it then is it really free?
• I have number one movie in all of US of A, now I put CD in cassette tape.
• You don’t have to scoop a robotic dog‘s poop.
• Holiday shopping season 2006 is on!

Another week disappears and we feel smarter than ever. Why? Because we learned the following:

• All good things must come to an end. Come and say goodbye to a $10 coupon for several stores.
• Chocolate fountains are so decadent… and now even cheaper with a coupon.
• Lagniappe = Free (unless it’s a cellphone, in which case you may even make $149).
• Why go to the supermarket when it can come to you?
• They make remote controls with color screens and sell them for $139 (after coupon).

Another busy week at Shopperism is in the books and once again we’ve learned much. Our conclusions so far:

• The only think better than reading a book is buying that book with a coupon
• We can always rely on Dell to send us great coupons.
• Printing photos is fun. Printing Photos with a coupon is funner.
• Everyone is still loco for Elmo.
• A violent movie also makes for a violent video game.
• You can never have enough shoes… or coupons for shoes.

So what did we learn this week?

• You haven’t terminated your Sprint contract yet? Get discounts on a new phone.
• It’s one of the world’s smallest Bluetooth headsets and you can buy it for dirt cheap ($30).
• Save energy and charge your cellphone with a solar powered backpack from Tumi.
• Help Bono save the world by buying red RED products with proceeds going to fight AIDS in Africa.
