We’ve previously covered this one, but we wanted to remind you that there is a secret page where you can find free music and videos on iTunes. It’s a constantly changing page, and it doesn’t have the best selection, but very few things in life are free. Bookmark the link below and check it out often.

Lagniappe: Free Movie from AOL (Today Only)

File under: Lagniappe (Free! Free! Free!), Movies

AOL Video

For the next 24 hours, AOL Video is offering users on free downloadable movie. These movies usually sell for $9.99 or $19.99. We don’t have a list of all the movies, but so far AOL mentioned Spider-Man 2, National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation and Jack Frost as three of the thirty movies you can pick from.

The movies are in Windows Media format and would require Windows XP with Internet Explorer and Window Media 10 support. You will have 24 hours (ending 12/3 at 6 AM EST) to complete the download. Once downloaded, you can view the movie on your PC and transfer it to one other PC and two Windows Media devices.

Update: Talk about a broken service… We understand that AOL’s video plugin doesn’t work in IE7, but at least let us download the movie and watch it on our standalone Windows Media player. Considering how Microsoft pushed out IE7 (1/3 of our IE users are now IE7), AOL may be missing the boat here.

iTunes

If you’ve visited the iTunes store, you probably noticed that they usually offer a track or two for free via a link on the front page of the store. Well, we did our research and put together this link which will get you to a “Free on iTunes” page listing all the current free music tracks and video clips. Since they change the list often, you may want to bookmark the link (right click on link and choose to add to favorites/bookmarks).

P.S. — If for some reason you haven’t tried it yet, you can download iTunes here

Lagniappe: Download Firefox 2.0 Web Browser

File under: Computer, Lagniappe (Free! Free! Free!)

FirefoxOur first Lagniappe is a great web browser which we use here at Shopperism and would encourage our readers to try. Firefox 2.0 comes with tabbed browsing, phishing protection, pop-up blocker, themes, session restore, search suggestions, inline spell checker (which we rely on here), and feed preview. It’s a small install file and includes all the security and performance needs you would expect from a web browser. The many available add-ons allow you to plugin various tools and utilities to improve your web browsing experience. For example, if you’re viewing this page in Firefox right now, you can add our site to your Search Engines (that’s the search bar next to your address bar).
